Gujarat Science City Ahmedabad

Located in Hebatpur district of Ahmedabad, Gujarat Science City is a part of government initiative that draws more and more students towards science education. The center is equipped with number of facilities that attracts students to give more interest on learning science. The center hosts- IMAX 3D theatre, energy park, hall of science, planet earth, amphitheatre among others. The science city has now become and important tourist location attracting science lovers and want to learn about scientific world.


Gujarat Science City Ahmedabad provides special housing for students to prepare for their examination without any problem. The center also runs special program “Vacation Training Program on Bio-resources for school children” to encourage students to take part in bio-resource activities. The program is run by government and is a month long program for students after SSC exams.

Gujarat Science City is a bold initiative by Gujarat Government that will showcase working models, imaginative exhibits, labs and live demonstration to help students understanding the science field.

Different Programs of Science

All the educational activities and science city programs are broadly into five areas like: Science Popularization Programme, Academic Programme on Science and Maths, Material Development, Training Students Volunteers and Media Resource Center.

Science Clubs

Gujarat Science City in association with Vigyan Prasar and Department of Science Club programs has opened more than 500 Science Clubs where members undertake various scientific activities.

Outreach Program

Gujarat Science City also undertakes various programmes in different schools across state, where science facilities are not much advance. In addition, members also actively participate and organize workshops in different parts of country to create awareness.

Science Olympiads

To make the science city more advance and reach more people, the center started Junior Science & Maths Olympiads for students studying in VIII and IX. The main aim of starting this program is to prepare students for the field. Moreover, the program helps teachers’ professional in curriculum.
Gujarat Science City Ahmedabad is being organizing orientation programmes on science Olympiad for awareness among students.

Development Plans

Presently, the government has taken the possession of 107 hectares of land for further development. Some of the features of the development are: Huge investment on industries, entrepreneurial ethos, good law and order and good population of Non-Resident Gujaratis.

Attractions in Gujarat Science City

Gujarat Science City is among the top tourist destination and people, especially science lovers do visit this place to explore the city. There are other attractions too in this science city that includes Musical Dance Fountain Aquamobil and Life Science Park which is the house varieties of butterflies.



At IMAX 3D theater the show starts at 2.30 pm and the last show is at 7.30 pm. There are good number of visitors in this theater that shows some scientific movies. At Musical Fountain, the show begins at 6.30 pm and the last show is at 8.40 pm. People go mesmerized with the extravaganza of the show presented.

Entry Fees: Rs10 for adults and Rs 5 for children.

How to Reach: Gujarat Science City is located off Sarkhej Gandhinagar Highway, and can be easily reached through various available transport systems.
