Finding its roots in a sentiment propelled by a deep respect for art and its study, Kanoria Centre for Arts' foundation was established with inputs from leading personalities from diverse creative fields, in a bid to create a wholesome institute.
The Kanoria Centre for Arts (KCA) is located amongst the foliage within the KL campus, CEPT University, Ahmedabad. Established in 1984, KCA has grown to encompass a variety of art spaces within its surroundings, from studio spaces to an art gallery and attracts a large number of visitors each day. It has earned itself a distinct name and repute in the art fraternity worldwide.
The Kanoria Centre for Arts strives to create a work induced environment for art students as well as professional artists using the premises of the institute. The Kanoria Centre for Arts also enjoys the advantage of being a self-funded institution, and thereby adopts its own working ethics, curriculum and grade systems. The institutes due to its financial independence gives it the authority to grant scholarships and thereby indulges in providing a value added system.
KCA has the vision to provide students with tools and access to an environment that fosters creativity and the germination of ideas.
When at the Kanoria Centre for Arts, do not miss checking out the updated library that’s finds pride in its diverse and unique collections of books, papers, journals and magazines. It houses some very old and interesting books on art to recent publications including exhibition catalogues, art magazines and auction house catalogues. The library also offers Internet facility for artists and is accessible from Monday to Saturday.
Another spot you must spend time at is the Chauraha Café and choose from their variety of eating and drinking options. You could pick from their array of teas, coffee, sandwiches and homemade special items daily. The Chauraha café is functional from Monday to Saturday between 4-8pm. The Kanoria Centre for Arts Gallery was opened in August 2011 and is also designed by renowned architect B.V Doshi it is 144m2 in size and is suitably equipped for exhibitions of visual arts. A completely air conditioned and properly illuminated with gallery lighting systems the Kanoria Centre for Arts Gallery is very popular and together with the greenery outside it is great choice for exhibiting artworks.
