Climate of Ahmedabad

From mid-March to mid-June is the summer season. At its peak, the temperature touches 45 or even 46 degrees Celsius. The south west monsoon lashes the city from mid-June and continues till September end. The city experiences heavy rainfall during August which sometimes creates a flood like situation. The winter season starts from November and continues till mid-March. The climate is very pleasant with December getting very chilly.

The intensity of the climate in Ahmedabad has been reduced by the Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Cambay. The forest covered mountains on the eastern boundary also help reduce the intensity of the climate rendering it pleasant and healthy. The best time to visit the city is from October to March when the climate is cool.

Cotton clothing is ideal for most of the months in Ahmedabad. Light woolen clothes are required in the winter months.
